This was the first set of revision cards I created. The main focus was to summarise each topic using language that featured on markschemes. Students were able to scan the QR codes to either listen to my-gcsescience.com videos or try out some sample questions and model answers. For a copy of the cards click on the following links: C1, C2, C3.

Students use the metro map to select appropriate keywords to be included in their answer to the exam question presented on the travel card. Command word descriptions and a range of connectives are provided to guide students in their answer. Markschemes and model answers are then printed onto the back. I printed these out in small to make them look as authentic as possible and laminated them so they last for many more years. To download a set of travel cards including the metro map click here. To download the template so you can adjust it for a different topic or subject click here. If you wish to design your own metro map use the metro map creator found on the ukedchat website (link here) This is a great adaptation of the travel card by @rondelle10_b: students use the markscheme on one side and the 'student response' on the other side to practise applying the marking criteria before having a go themselves. Another great adaptation can be seen here. @SLT_Kat uses her travel cards to improve exam responses in RS. To download a copy of her travel card click here. The same idea applies to the C2 arrival and departure boards with flight tickets (click here for a copy) and hot air balloon luggage tags (click here for a copy). I am tempted to order a hot air balloon mobile to hang the tags from.... |
